'THE MACHINE' STILLS MMA'S FINEST!
‘Sucker Punch’ star recaptures ‘Cage Rage’
crown.
Ian ‘The Machine’ Freeman
proved why he is the perfect man to play the ultimate hard man Maitland
in the movie ‘Sucker Punch’ by proving that he is still
Britain’s hardest in the MMA cage. Freeman recaptured the
‘Cage Rage’ light-heavyweight title at a packed Wembley
Arena by comprehensively beating defending champion Mark ‘The
Beast’ Epstein. The man who brings the menace to Maitland
looked in superb condition as he entered the cage and his conditioning
was to play a huge factor in the outcome.

The first round started with a brisk and hard hitting toe to toe
stand-up exchange before ‘The Machine’ took his opponent
to ground and worked him in traditional ground and pound style.
To take a big man down, keep him there, maintain position and dominate
takes enormous strength and stamina but this is exactly what ‘The
Machine’ maintained throughout rounds two and three, a phenomenal
effort. Despite his best efforts and we are talking about an incredibly
strong man here, ‘The Beast’ was totally controlled
throughout the fight, an incredible feat that Maitland would have
been proud of.
After three dominant rounds, ‘The Beast’, the judges
and the 8,000 capacity crowd knew beyond doubt that ‘The Machine’
was back with a virtually flawless performance and all that was
left was to put the full stop on proceedings and place the belt
around Ian’s waist. ‘The Machine’ was the champion
once more and it was a remarkable display of raw energy, grit and
determination from a man who turned 40 just weeks later, yet fought
with the stamina of a man half his age, reminding everyone that
he was still the man to beat-the best of British.
Ian may now be ‘talking the talk’ as an actor but he
proved that he’s still ‘walking the walk’ as a
World Class fighter.
Well done Ian from all your friends on the cast and crew of ‘Sucker
Punch’. Forget the governor of California, The real ‘Machine’
has risen!
